Unapologetic in its queerness, crass with a whole lot of sass and dripping in bio-degradable glitter. Scarlett Moffatt and Baby Lame spill the tea, the whole tea and nothing but the tea on the world of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
Baby Lame is a force to be reckoned with… regarded as one of London’s most exciting alt-cabaret stars, she is also an award-winning MC, BBC radio presenter, actor and events producer.
After working on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK as a Consultant Producer, Baby was selected as the co-host of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK: The Podcast alongside Scarlett Moffatt for BBC Sounds.
Baby is the emcee and co-producer of Mariah and Friendz ‘The best damn drag-circus-burlesque show in town’ (Timeout), which has played sold out shows at Underbelly Festival and Winterville, as well as holding a monthly residency at Bethnal Green Working Mens Club for the last 5 years. Other MC credits include regular projects with The Glory, including Europe’s largest Drag King competition ‘Man Up‘ alongside Adam All.
Baby has over 15 years experience working in both Television and Event management and is the founder and producer of the critically acclaimed monthly variety night ‘Shit Show‘ at The Glory. Other producer credits include collaborations with Secret Cinema, Wilderness, All Points East, Y Not Festival, Ace Hotel, Timeout, The London Eye, BFI and And What? Queer Arts Festival.
On stage, Baby has worked regularly with Peaches Christ starring as Lame Edna in the world premier of ‘Spice Racks’ at the Castro Theatre. She regrouped with Peaches in 2019 joining the cast of ‘Drag Becomes Her‘ for a 22 date sellout UK tour alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon and Ben Delacreme.
Other noteable credits include landing the leading role in Finger in the Pie’s ‘Wunderfinger’ at London’s Wonderground. Baby also gained a role in Jonny Woo’s children’s show at the National Theatre River Stage, which led to the creation of her own children’s show ‘Poop Show‘ for the National Theatre.
Her award-winning show ; ‘Baby Lame: Don’t Call it a Comeback!‘ has played hugely successful runs at Brighton Fringe (The Marlborough Theatre), Hot August Fringe (RVT), Mimetic Festival (Vaults), VAULT 2015 and Edinburgh Festival (CC Blooms).
Upcoming projects include her long awaited solo show – ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Lame’. The show is currently postponed due to Covid-19, but will hopefully be rescheduled to play at the Pleasance Theatre later in the year.
“Baby Lame drips in psychedelic and ferocious quality” (QX Magazine)
“A welcome breath of fresh, anarchic air on the London cabaret scene” (Out Here Magazine)
“Baby Lame provides an unforgettable experience you will not forget no matter how hard you try!” (Peaches Christ)
“Lame keeps hold of attention with a steely grip while demonstrating an incredible ability to improvise” (This is Cabaret).
Featuring campy singalongs, ridiculous games and pop up performances from some of the finest Queer artists the UK has to offer… Oh, and they’ll be some bingo thrown in too!
Get ready to join TEAM MAD or TEAM HEL in the ultimate bitch off, led by the award-winning Miss Lame herself.
Narcissistic actress Madeline Ashton (Streep) and writer Helen Sharp (Hawn) are old friends, whose tenuous bond is broken when Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé (Willis). It’s tested even further when a potion promising eternal youth is offered to them by a mysterious woman (Rossellini). The film is full of gorgeously camp lines and boasts an over-the-top horror aesthetic, but its beating heart is the relationship between the two frenemies.

Try as I might, I can’t find a podcast for this year’s I’m a Celebrity… (if there is one, please let me know), so try this instead. Scarlett Moffatt (Goggleboxer turned presenter) and drag queen Baby Lame (that’s lame, not lam-ay) are our presenters. Snappily edited and very enjoyable, suffused with both presenters’ great charm and hilarity, this podcast will make you smile, even if you haven’t seen the show. The guests are clearly enjoying themselves, and the (ex-)contestants too. Check out @Baby_Lame’s Twitter feed to see just how non-casual a studio look can be.
Two HUGE announcements coming soon!
